Waltham College is a day and boarding school for Ugandan orphans and needy children funded by the Kateregga Foundation Inc.
Often left with no other choice but to fend for themselves, these children are unable to pay public school fees.
Without education or family, they face a bleak future.
See our facilities and students in this film:
At Waltham College, 300 students age 12-18 are taught English, math, science, geography, history, computer science--all general knowledge subjects. Outside of class, students play sports and learn craft trades, such as construction. Today the college staff includes: an administrator, secretary, driver, 14 teachers, and two cooks.
Occasionally we take students on field trips. We want them to have a good time; we hope that for a moment they can forget the hardships they have endured and just have fun.
The project began by helping just a few children. But AIDS has affected so many families, and the problem of children being left parentless is so big, that we now have more children than we can take care of in our current facilities. Still, we can't turn away a child in need and deny them perhaps their only chance at education and a supportive community.
That's why we need your help to continue building the school. >>
